💫 ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Emma Housner Emma grew up in Michigan and trained in a wide variety of dance styles, building a strong foundation in movement and technique. After years of competing, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Chapman University in Southern California. During college, she discovered Brazilian Zouk and developed a deep connection to the style alongside her solo dance training. Since graduating in 2019, she has taught Zouk both nationally and internationally, blending her commercial dance background with partner work. After some time away, she’s excited to reconnect with the dance floor and rediscover her lifelong love for movement.

Gabriel de Carvalho Gabriel began his movement journey through Brazilian jiu-jitsu before discovering tango in Rio de Janeiro, eventually falling in love with Brazilian Zouk. Over the past five years, he has been teaching and growing communities across the Midwest. Based in Iowa City, he also teaches in Minneapolis and Des Moines. His teaching blends technique, musicality, and deep cultural roots—creating an inspiring and welcoming environment for dancers of all levels.
